Pentaerythritol is a tetrafunctional alcohol for use in the production of paint and varnish materials and synthesis.
Soluble in water, benzene, ether and slightly soluble in alcohol.
 
Technical pentaerythritol is used in the manufacture of alkyd resins, fatty acid resin and tall oil esters. Also recommended for vinyl chloride, synthetic rubber, pentaerythritol tetranitrate (PETN), polyvinyl chloride stabilizers, olefins antioxidant and pentaerythritol triacrylate.
